Summer is here. People are rejoicing, celebrating by heading to the beach, going for hikes in their favorite parks, and hosting campfires for loved ones. This season is one that brings happiness and unity to a lot of people. Unfortunately, it also brings pests that try to ruin all of our fun.

A pest is something which is detrimental to humanity or our concerns, such as health, livestock, and the like. A pest can be a plant or animal. A lot of pests are incredibly interesting little creatures. For example, ants, including all types of black ants, can lift fifty times their body weight. That’d be like one of us heading out the driveway to bench press the sedan. The little creatures also don’t have any ears, hearing through the feeling of vibrations that reverberate through their body by way of their tiny feet. There are over twelve thousand species of the critters.

Despite how interesting these pest might be, having ant problems or ticks in your home can be a frightening, downright disgusting experience for many people. Did you know termite mounds all have a distinct smell produced by glands on termite workers? Sure, that’s incredibly interesting! If termite problems are causing your home to fall into disrepair, however, it doesn’t matter how fascinating you might find them. They’ve got to go, and quickly!

Mosquitoes and ticks are arguably the worst insect pests we have to contend with. Consider the fact that the latter can spread lime disease when it burrows into your skin and you’ll realize why identifying ticks and utilizing tick extermination are so important in large parts of the country. Learning about species of ticks and how to remove them from skin can be a real life saver for both humans and our canine friends who like to play outside.

Beyond tick extermination, knowing how to get rid of mosquitoes in your back yard can be very important for your animals. If you take your dog outside to play fetch often then chances might be pretty good that a mosquito will view them as a nice, hot meal. The big problem here is that mosquitoes can spread heart worms and intestinal parasites that can harm and even kill your best friend! Natural mosquito repellents are available for those worried about harmful chemicals around their houses.

If you live in an area that is rife with mosquitoes, ticks, and other pests, you owe it to yourself, to your family, to your dogs and cats to get the problem taken care of as soon as possible. Tick extermination, help with rodent problems, and other assistance is readily available. See this link for more references. For more, read this link. Continue reading here.

  1. Ticks are the worst. I live in Arkansas. We spend a lot of time hunting in the woods. Afterward we always come in for showers so we can pick the little troublemakers out of our skin. You’ve gotta pop their heads off!
